Revisiting Murchison Falls with a better camera, May 6, 2012
It's strange how different the same places can be on different days. Last time we visited Murchison Falls, in October 2010, we saw scores of crocodiles, herds of buffalo and only one lonely elephant. This time the banks were teeming with elephants and we saw only three or four crocodiles and just one lonely buffalo.
However, the Nile was as beautiful as before. The sight from the head of the Falls was particularly impressive this time for it is still the rainy season. When we'd been in Jinja a couple of days before, Lake Victoria had been higher than we'd ever seen it. Now all that water was pouring down the Nile and thundering down the Falls themselves. Magnificent!
